Every Season Has Its Time
Life happens in seasons.
Some seasons bring growth, celebration, abundance, and moments you wish you could freeze in time.
Others bring uncertainty, disappointment, loss, or simply the uncomfortable reality that something you once knew is changing.
But no season lasts forever.
Ecclesiastes reminds us:“For everything there is a season, and a time for every matter under heaven.”~ Ecclesiastes 3:1
There is a time to begin and a time to let go.
A time to build and a time to rest.
A time to celebrate and a time to grieve.
A time to hold on and a time to release.
That doesn't mean we should live anxiously, constantly preparing for the next storm.
It means we should live wisely.
When you're in a difficult season, prepare for the possibility that it will change.
Make the plan. Build the reserves. Learn what you need to learn.
Strengthen what needs strengthening. Ask for help.
Do the work that will help you weather the season.
But when the good season comes?
Don't miss it because you're worried about the next one.
Be there.Laugh. Celebrate. Take the picture. Sit at the table a little longer.
Enjoy the people you love. Notice the sunset. Let yourself be grateful.
The Sun and the Rain Falls on Us All
Scripture reminds us that “He makes his sun rise on the evil and on the good, and sends rain on the just and on the unjust.” ~ Matthew 5:45
The sun and the rain fall on all of us. We don't get to choose every season that comes our way.
But we can choose how we prepare for them, how we walk through them, and whether we're present enough to appreciate them while they're here.
So plan for the winter—but don't forget to live in the summer.
Prepare for difficult seasons without becoming consumed by the possibility of them.
And when life gives you a beautiful season, receive it fully.
Nothing lasts forever.
Not the hard season.
And not the good one either.
That's not meant to frighten us.
It's an invitation to be present.
Honor the season you're in.
Prepare for the season ahead.
And trust that, in time, another season will come.
Renew. Transform. Become.
